Founder and CEO of AGES-online, Ken Aubuchon, spoke Saturday, April 21, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. at the Midwest Computer Genealogists general meeting in Raymore, MO. After presenting a brief overview of the AGES-online application, as well as what's in the future. Ken revealed and opened for discussion the new website prototype created and donated to MCG. The state of the art prototype, features "Bulletins" on the homepage and a members only area where members can manage their own MCG account. The presentation was received enthusiastically by the entire group.
According to the Julian calendar, March 25th was the first day of the year and each year was 365 days and 6 hours long. In 1582, Pope Gregory XIII determined that the Julian calendar was incorrect: each day was just a little bit too long. This meant that the human calendar wasn't keeping up with nature's calendar, and the seasons kept arriving slightly earlier in the year. more »
